Thank you for voting in the 2018 General Election! Waconia saw excellent voter turnout this year. Stay tuned for more information on dates regarding 2020 elections! 

Polling Locations


Local, state, and national elections are held in even-numbered years. On election day, all polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The City of Waconia is divided into 2 wards, please view the polling places listed below. If you are unsure of the ward in which you reside, please consult the City of Waconia Ward Boundary Map below or visit the Secretary of State’s website.

Residents of the City of Waconia reside within the following government jurisdictions:

  • Carver County Commissioner District 4
  • Independent School District 110
  • Judicial District 1
  • Minnesota House District 47A
  • Minnesota Senate District 47
  • U.S. Congressional District 6

Absentee Voting

Waconia Residents now have the opportunity to vote absentee at Waconia City Hall (201 South Vine Street). Absentee voting does require an absentee voting application be filled out. These are available at the time of voting, but can also be downloaded here and filled out ahead of time.
